But if Bella really did Marrying Edward during a total solar eclipse might make her feel even more anxious on her wedding day, in addition to being married to a vampire.

In an interview with TODAY.com, Elliott and Cam said their wedding was “nervous.”

They said the only thing they felt as they watched the moon pass by the sun was a huge sense of “relief” that everything was going exactly as planned.

“There’s a lot of luck involved,” Cam said. “It’s a relief that things happened correctly.”

Elliott explained that the weather in Dallas was not looking good on the eve of the wedding. Earlier in the day, weather forecasts predicted thundershowers. She worries that all the plans she and Cam have made for the wedding will be ruined in the blink of an eye.

“It was a miracle that the clouds parted at the right time and we were able to see everything. It was so cool,” she said.

Shortly before the solar eclipse, Cam and Elliot paused their wedding so their guests could enjoy the view.

Each attendee was given a special pair of eclipse glasses, allowing them to gaze up at the glowing sky. At that moment, Elliot and Cam cried as they watched the moon cover the sun.

“We make our vows about five minutes before totality and then pause everything so everyone can watch and experience it,” she said.

“Honestly, this was the coolest part of the wedding. It was so awesome to stand there and listen to all of our friends and family react to the eclipse. They cheered and cried and gasped. It was really cool and cool to be able to experience that. All of them together.

After the ceremony, the newlyweds headed to a reception themed after Van Gogh’s famous paintings “The Starry Night” and “Alice in Wonderland.”

The reception expressed their shared love of stargazing and astronomy.

“It’s something we’ve always enjoyed doing together,” said Elliott, who has a degree in physics.

They had witnessed a solar eclipse as a couple. In fact, it was their first date. In 2017, the couple from Arizona traveled to Casper, Wyoming to view the solar eclipse.

When they got engaged in 2022, they wanted to pay homage to the beginning of their romance and get married when the next solar eclipse hits the United States, having last tied the knot on April 8, 2024.

“That makes some sense,” Cam said.

“It feels absolutely right because the last solar eclipse brought us together and it was truly one of the most magical experiences ever. It was an incredible full-body experience and humbling,” Elliott added road. “You really feel connected to the universe but still small at the same time. It’s really cool.”

Cam, a pilot and chef, met Elliott, an intellectual property attorney, in 2017 when she was seeking flying lessons at Elliott’s job.

He said he loved her love of science and her ownership of a Wiener terrier.

“As we flew together, it was clear that her desire to learn extended beyond just flying. She was, and still is, a very curious person,” he said. “As time went on and I got to know her more and more, I started to realize that this was not just a part of her, it was her essence, and being around her made her fascinating.”

As for Elliott, she said she was drawn to Cam’s intelligence.

“From the first moment I met Rhett, I valued his intelligence, his kindness and his humor,” she said. All employees like and respect him.

“The more we talked during the flight, the more I liked him. We laughed and talked for hours about a wide range of topics during the eclipse and at dinner afterward,” Elliott added. “The more I get to know him, the more I like him. He’s smart, sweet, handsome, funny and talented.”

After realizing their dream of getting married during a solar eclipse, the pair are now planning what to do next. Elliot said she already had an idea.

“The next stop will be through Spain, where my family lives. I’ve always wanted to go back and visit, so we might try to make some plans around that,” she said. “Then the next one will be through Egypt, which will be a really cool thing to do.”
